2. Payments & Billing
2.1 Payment Obligations
Payment for all Publishing Packages, Service Add-ons, Project Upgrades, Membership Plans, and Marketing Services must be made according to the selected pricing plan unless otherwise agreed in writing by California Book Press.
2.2 Automatic Renewals
Certain Membership Plans and recurring Marketing Services automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless canceled before the next scheduled renewal date.
2.3 Outstanding Balances
If payments remain unpaid, California Book Press reserves the right to:
- Suspend or discontinue ongoing services.
- Withhold project files, deliverables, or completed work until payment is received in full.
- Take appropriate action to recover any outstanding balances.
3. Service Cancellation
You may request cancellation of any of the following services at any time by submitting a written request to:

The following services may be canceled:
- Publishing Packages
- Service Add-ons
- Project Upgrades
- Membership Plans
- Recurring Marketing Services
Unless otherwise required by applicable law, all payments made are non-refundable.
4. What Happens After Cancellation
4.1 Publishing Packages
- All work on the project will stop once the cancellation request has been processed.
- Any unpaid project balance becomes immediately due.
- Drafts, source files, completed work, and other deliverables will only be released after the full package amount has been paid.
4.2 Membership Plans
- Previously paid membership fees are non-refundable.
- Membership benefits remain active until the end of the current paid billing period.
- Any outstanding charges for Publishing Packages, Add-ons, or Upgrades remain payable.
4.3 Monthly Marketing Services
- Payments already processed for marketing services are non-refundable.
- Services will remain active until the current billing period expires.
- Future recurring charges will stop after cancellation and the service will not renew automatically.
5. Ownership & Delivery of Work
Authors retain full ownership of their book and intellectual property at all times.
However, all project files, design assets, manuscripts, source files, and final deliverables will only be released after all outstanding balances have been paid in full.
California Book Press reserves the right to withhold any project materials until complete payment has been received.
6. Refund Policy
Once work has begun on a project:
- Payments are considered earned for the time, expertise, labor, and resources invested.
- Partial refunds are not available.
- Completed project phases are not eligible for refunds.
7. Changes to This Policy
California Book Press may revise or update this Cancellation Policy at any time. Any changes will become effective once the updated version is published on our website.
Your continued use of our services after any revisions constitutes acceptance of the updated Cancellation Policy.
